Biodiversity Genomics and Organismal Biology at Juniata College

We are organismal evolutionary biologists that use an integrative biodiversity genomics approach to study and understand how biological diversity is promoted and maintained. We are located at Juniata College in Huntingdon, PA.

About

Research

The overarching goal of our research is to characterize the molecular mechanisms that generate and maintain biodiversity in natural populations. As organismal evolutionary biologists, we strive to understand how microevolutionary processes drive patterns of diversity at the levels of both the genotype and phenotype, how these patterns are shaped by the surrounding environments, and how these processes translate to larger evolutionary scales.

Teaching

The natural world has always fascinated me and I strive to pass on this passion to others. I integrate both concept-oriented and active-learning strategies into my teaching and mentorship to equip students with the ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage themselves and others in the wonders of nature and the world around them.
